These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and My Teen's World (“we,” “us,” “our”). By using the site or subscribing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. What you're using
My Teen's World is a parenting publication: a Friday-delivered customized reading and a searchable library of trends affecting American teens. The free tier gives you the welcome reading (Reading Zero), your first Friday Reading customized to your family, and the first 10 trends (20 after a free signup). The Pro tier ($11.99 USD per month or $99 USD per year) gives you one customized Friday Reading per month, the full archive, and all 200 trends re-ranked to your family. The Max tier ($19.99 USD per month or $199 USD per year) gives you a Friday Reading every week. You must be at least 18 and the parent or guardian of the child you're reading about.
2. Pricing and billing
- Membership pricing: Pro (monthly Reading) is $11.99 USD/month or $99 USD/year; Max (weekly Reading) is $19.99 USD/month or $199 USD/year.
- Billing is handled by Stripe. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply.
- If a payment fails, we'll retry per Stripe's standard schedule. After repeated failures the membership lapses and access reverts to the free tier.
- Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable and we don't prorate partial periods. If the law in your state gives you a refund or cancellation right, nothing here takes it away.
3. Automatic renewal & how to cancel
Your membership automatically renews. Unless you cancel, it continues and your payment method is charged $11.99 (Pro) or $19.99 (Max) USD at the start of each month (monthly plans) or $99 (Pro) or $199 (Max) USD at the start of each year (annual plans), at the then-current price, until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time — online and in a few clicks — from your membership page or the link in any membership email. No phone call or email is required to cancel.
- Cancellation stops future charges. It takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- For annual plans, we send a renewal reminder by email before each renewal so the charge is never a surprise.
- If we ever change the recurring price, we'll email you in advance and you can cancel before the new price applies.
We follow California's Automatic Renewal Law and similar state laws: we disclose the renewal terms clearly before you buy, obtain your affirmative consent, send you an acknowledgment with these cancellation details, and provide an easy online way to cancel.
4. What we're not
This is the part to read carefully.
My Teen's World is a publication, not a medical service, not therapy, not a substitute for talking with your child's doctor or a licensed mental-health professional. The readings translate what the science says into plain English; they do not diagnose your child or prescribe treatment. If your teen is in crisis, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7) or 911 for immediate danger.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the site for your own family's benefit and not to:
- Share your account or membership login with others.
- Resell, republish, or systematically copy the readings.
- Scrape or automate access to content beyond standard web browsing.
- Use the site to harass, defame, or harm any person or group.
- Attempt to circumvent paid-tier gates.
We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms.
6. Content ownership
All readings, trends entries, and original images on the site are © My Teen's World. You may share excerpts with attribution and a link back; you may not republish full readings without written permission. Third-party content quoted in the readings (academic studies, news reports, screenshots) belongs to its respective owners and is used under fair use for educational commentary.
7. Your content
If you send us a question, story, or other content (e.g., via email), we may quote it anonymously in a future reading to illustrate a pattern. We will never identify you by name without your explicit written agreement.
8. Account termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing admin@myteensworld.com. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for the minimum we're required to retain for tax/payment-record purposes (Stripe handles those records on its side).
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
We do our best to provide accurate, useful, and timely content. The service is provided “as is” and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, without warranties of any kind. We cannot guarantee that any specific reading will apply to your family's situation, and we are not liable for any decisions you make based on what you read here. Use the readings as one input among many; talk with a professional when the situation warrants it.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes (e.g., pricing), send a one-time email notice to your registered email before the change takes effect.
11. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If we have a dispute, let's try to resolve it informally first — email admin@myteensworld.com and we'll work in good faith to sort it out. Any dispute that can't be resolved that way will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in small-claims court, or affects rights you have under California consumer-protection law.
