  • “Let me look at the listings” takes the project away from them.
  • The point of buying a first car is to learn HOW, not just to have a car. Don't steal the laboratory.

Cool, $4,000 is a real budget. Let's talk through how to shop smart — not what to buy, but how. Things that matter: mileage under 150K, reliable brands at that price point (Toyota, Honda, sometimes Mazda), pre-purchase inspection at a mechanic (cost: $100-150, prevents $3,000 mistakes), don't fall in love with the first one. Teen
